NO RECALL

In 2021, AFSCME California joined a statewide coalition of labor unions, social justice organizations, and voting rights groups to fight back against the far-right campaign to force a recall election of California's Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom. I created the AFSCME California branding and messaging for this campaign - NO RECALL - which was used by AFSCME locals across the state. I also produced the video ad campaign run by AFSCME across the state urging voters to get out and vote no on the recall, a crucial step to prevent the worst far-right candidates from taking over the biggest state in the country.

The recall failed at the ballot by a 2-1 margin, a decisive blow to anti-worker special interests across the state and proof that when working people organize, they can accomplish anything.
